Jablanica Valley, Šmartno pri Litiji
The picturesque villages along the right bank of the Sava River, along the Jablanica Creek as well as along the Reka Creek are inextricably linked to nature. This Natura 2000 area has a protected bat roost, the Jablanica Creek is home to the lamprey – a cyclostome, and the area along the Sava River is home to endangered birds, such as the goosander.
The characteristic image of the landscape is of meadow orchards. In addition to remarkable churches, there is also a granary, a hayrack and a traditional fruit-drying house. The valley also has two important archaeological sites: Roven and Cvenger.
