“Pod žičnico” Tavern, Velika Planina
In the Kamniška Bistrica Valley, next to the lower station of the cable car that runs to Velika Planina Plateau, there is the renovated tavern “Pod žičnico”. It is famous for domestic Slovenian dishes, wild game and freshwater fish dishes, and their own specialties, such as the “trnič” hard cheese and the Tuhinj trout – two locally renowned dishes from the Taste Kamnik project. Among the desserts, the guests are thrilled with the original “Sladka planina” dessert.
Many recipes for A la carte dishes, hot and cold appetizers, one-pot dishes, main dishes and desserts were created in cooperation with the Tejani kitchen, which designed original culinary approaches and menus for the “Pod žičnico” tavern.
The tavern with views over the Kamnik Alps has 100 seats outdoors, and the capacity for 40 persons indoors.
Open – in the summer season:
- Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
- Friday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.;
Open – in the winter season:
- Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
- Friday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
